The World is New: Caleb Stephen

A little boy, five days new, stole my heart completely. He belongs to my cousins, Lisa and Eric, and big sister Aubrey. He's beautiful, tiny and perfect. And because I'm so close with Lisa, my attachment to her children is huge. Can I just throw it out there that my family makes gorgeous babies? Because they do. I'll post proof soon, and you can see all the ornery little munchkin faces that belong to my ginormous family. But today is about the newest member. Getting my hands on Caleb during his first few days was immensely important to me. It solidifies in my heart, that I've known this little being his whole life. I took one look at this kid, held him in my arms, smelled his sweet, soft newborn head and felt my heart swell to an unmeasurable size. I have to accommodate all those little ornery faces somehow!

My other cousin, and Lisa's sister-in-law, Sarah, is a fabulous photographer. She was itching to do a newborn shoot with Caleb and graciously allowed me to invade her space, and try my hand at it too! I'm so thankful for it too, because it was unlike any other shoot I've done thus far! It was imperative to keep our handsome little subject happy, sleepy, warm and comfortable. These shoots should be done within the baby's first ten days of life; they grow so fast, and their curly, bendy, tiny bodies jump into sturdy baby mode past two weeks. I'm ridiculously excited about these. And I will now be stalking all the expecting mamas out there!

Caleb, you are a very loved little boy. Welcome to the coolest family on earth.

David & Cassie: Married!

So often weddings become about the glitz. The guests, the sparkle, the details. And you wonder, is it about the marriage? For Cassie and David, it most certainly, without a shadow of a doubt, is. Their day began warm and beautiful, happy and bright. The bride and groom both come from large families; everyone coming together perfectly, creating an exquisite send-off into marriage. And by the smiles on their guests' faces, the love in the voices of those who led toasts, and most importantly, Cassie and David's tightly gripped hands, it was clear that this newly joined husband and wife are made for one another. It was beautiful, start to finish.

Cassie and David, may you always be as happy and in love as you were on your wedding day. You two bring so much joy to so many; it's a wonderful thing to see two truly beautiful souls come together as you have. Congratulations Lovebirds!

Ashley & Matt

This was fun. Really fun. Yummy light, two of our best friends and happy reasons to freeze this day into the archives. On the day we headed out to Innis Woods, Ash and Matt were less than 72 hours away from leaving American soil to embark on a journey that would forever change them. They, along with a team from their church, were Cambodia bound. Once in Phnom Phen, they would be helping to build a new kitchen for the orphanage their church sponsors, but more importantly, loving on some very sweet kids.

In addition to the truly selfless adventure they were about to begin, they will also soon be celebrating their current adventure of marriage.. four blissful years of it! These two are really something. Truly a team of beautiful souls, their hearts seek out those who need love, and they happily, freely give.

Ash and Matt, even though I was hoping you would somehow find a way to bring back a cute Cambodian mini-Myers, your journey is incredible, as are you. We are happy, blessed and proud to call such beautiful people dear friends! We love y'all!

Bridal Bliss

I've been slacking on the blog posts this past week, but please forgive me! I finally completed, and launched my facebook page! Look me up under Katie Sprinkle Photography, and you'll see why the blog has been on the back burner. Still. No excuses, so here ya go.

A couple weeks ago, my mom threw a bridal shower for one of her best friend's adorable daughters. It was a perfect blend of laughter, hugs, and joy. Elizabeth and Troy are set to marry July 17th. Love and best wishes for a beautiful life together, you two!
Our neighbors, Jen and Jeff recently tied the knot, with a gorgeous reception following, at the Smith Brothers Venue in downtown Columbus. Talk about cool. Dimly lit with floating candles and twinkle lights spiraling around beams, the brick walls and high ceilings told their own story. And on this night, our sweet neighbors added their story to the energy seeping into their backdrop. Jen looked radiant and happy, Jeff, handsome in his black tux, added his usual humor to their big day. These two were made for one another, and we are so happy to have been able to share in such a beautiful beginning!
Our adorable friends, Adam and Jena recently exchanged vows at our church, Liberty Presbyterian, or as most of Columbus calls it, "the barn church." Had Matt and I gotten married in town, it would've been here. It's stunning, really. Light and natural and calm. And after adding a beautiful girl in a wedding gown, staring up at her handsome hubby-to-be.. well, you get it. It's magical. We love these two. They love the heck out of each other, and are two of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. Extra sparkle was everywhere. Adam surprised his new bride, an OSU graduate and big Buckeye fan, with an appearance by Brutus Buckeye himself! We danced, and drank, and piled into the photobooth, while listening to kareoke renditions of any song you can think of. Congrats again, Holdermans! May your future be filled with ridiculous amounts of love and happiness!

Ooh. And. Maaaany apologies for any incriminating photobooth photos we may or may not have been apart of. We were having a contest for Most Outrageous Series. We can't be held accountable.
