Lifestyle: The Diels

Sometimes in life, your plans fall flat, and just about the time you begin to get nervous, nervousness flatlines and grows into something beautiful and fun. The day before Thanksgiving, (yes, Thanksgiving, my posts are a wee bit behind!) Matt's cousin, Marianne, and her adorable family would be passing through Columbus on their way to her parents' home in Wilmington. We timed it up perfectly, to meet at Homestead Park, let the girls play, and snap some family photos in the process. Then, the rain began. And I cringed. Because this is my first winter shooting, and I felt a bit lost. And Marianne optomisticly agreed to wing it at my house.

We don't have the greatest set up for shooting indoors, and with a dark sky outside, light was a challenge. So I busted out my new speedlite, (thanks Hubby for insisting I buy what I truly needed!) and their photos turned out to be some of my very favorites to date! Of course, beautiful people always help my cause, but I actually thanked the rain for forcing me out of my comfort zone.

Troy and Marianne- you have the most beautiful, sweet family. If my children are half as adorable and kind as yours someday, I'll be fulfilled. Thank you for spending the afternoon with your cousin's wild, ADD-stricken wife! The four of you are just wonderful. Love and hugs!
